And we're getting a particularly exciting tax return debate this cycle, with Donald Trump reportedly telling the Associated Press that, despite earlier promises, he doesn't really expect to release them before the November election after all. The reason? He says voters just don't care about them, plus "There's nothing to learn from them." Trump later tweeted that he only told the AP he won't release the documents until after an IRS audit is complete, but the whole mess is already creating a predictable tangle on the GOP side nonetheless, with Mitt Romney now blasting the move as "disqualifying." Of course, back in ancient history in 2012, Romney dragged his feet until September to release his most recent year of returns, while Donald Trump was busily advising Romney to speed it up. Trump could be right that voters who are already inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt may not actually care about his tax documents. But a debate over process like this one also gives some pretty decent political cover to those Republicans who want an excuse not to endorse their party's presumptive nominee right now.  Click for more.
