Graham Joshua Harvey dodał post w grupie Environmental Action Republica Dominicana Graham Joshua Harvey 1 maja o 16:42 Correspondence with Coca Cola: I sent an messages to Coca Cola last year both US & Dominican Republic & got no reply about the environmental mess caused by plastic bottles. I would like to see Coca Cola commit to actions & funding in developing countries like Dr to address this problem Response: Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. Harvey. We appreciate your interest in our Company. In order to provide you with the appropriate information, we would like to ask that you send another message providing further details about your request. You may reply directly to this email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.Angela Industry and Consumer Affairs Hi there You have a slow response on your emails.I would think that what I have already written about in the first email is sufficient detail at this stage with which Coca Cola would be able to supply a response of Yes No or Maybe to projects to clean up developing countries where the bottles and products are being supplied but there is no proper recycling system in place. Does Coca Cola have a commitment to the environment when developing countries are being littered and oceans clogged with the discarded bottles? Is CC willing & interested to be part of a team effort to resolve this problem? We need funding for clean ups and we need Coca Cola ads to promote recycling & proper disposal and we need a system such as deposits on bottles to encourage return of bottles rather than discarding on beaches and other places Graham Response: Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. Harvey. We appreciate your interest in our Company.Thank you for contacting us about deposits. We appreciate your taking the time to contact us.As you may know, deposits are established by state legislatures, not by The Coca-Cola Company. Currently, California has a deposit-like system referred to as "redemption" system, also known as AB2020. The Canadian provinces which have enacted bottle bills, or deposit systems, are Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, the Yukon Territory, and Newfoundland. Additionally, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Taiwan, South Australia, The Netherlands, and Barbados currently have deposit systems as well. The states that have a deposit system are Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, and Vermont. The bottle bills includes all soft drink and beer packaging (cans, glass, and PET) and requires that consumers return the empty packages to local retail stores to obtain the deposit refunds. Additionally, Maine's bottle bill was expanded to include juice and tea packaging several years ago. Please be assured that our Company is very dedicated to the environment. The Coca-Cola Company is, in fact, a founding member of Keep America Beautiful and several other similar programs. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or comments.Angela Industry and Consumer Affairs Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you Angela. But the line of reasoning being used by CC just will not work in the current world situation of prosperous nations & those not. If you explore the countries & territories with recycling & deposits etc, we are seeing it as mainly confined to the developed world. So we do nothing in the developing world where environmental education is less advanced and where governments do not possess the same concern? This photo is near the capital of Santo Domingo; many of these bottles are CC. CC will do nothing about this? I request that CC management review their commitment to environmental work in the developing world. If it is good enough to operate in & derive revenue, then it is good enough to take leadership in as well & do the right thing rgdsGraham Graham Harvey Response: Thank you for contacting our Web site, Mr. Harvey. We appreciate your interest in The Coca-Cola Company. Your comments are appreciated and will be shared with the appropriate management. If you have additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact us again. Angela Industry and Consumer Affairs Thank you for your response. My query still remains unanswered. I want to know that CC is going to do something about this issue. Many of us have a strong commitment to the environment so we do not plan to give up on the issue of environmental challenges especially as it relates to developing countries like DR. As environmental awareness grows further, which it will, because more people in the world are becoming better educated, concerned & connected, CC needs to decide how it will be seen in history. Will CC be an actor for improving the situation, or will CC wait until directed to by governments in developing countries, which could be never? CC needs to give details so they can be shared in social media as a company with ethics. I need to hear from CC about specifics... Lubię to!
