Father's Day – Solved!
By JIM WINDOLF
There are two types of fathers: those who say, "Don't get me anything for Father's Day" and mean it, and those who say the same thing and don't.
If your dad falls into the latter category, allow me to point you toward a few items described in recent editions of the Men's Style section.
Let's start with a tried-and-true gift: the necktie. In David Colman's recent story, he not only found a selection of excellent ties, but he also suggests unorthodox methods of knotting them.
In his last On Time column, Alex Williams offered a guide to new wristwatches with rubber straps (ranging from expensive to very expensive).
For the perfect looks for a man this summer, we turned to a rising star in the fashion universe, a shiba inu named Bodhi (fashion name: Menswear Dog). The suits recommended here are a bit much for a Father's Day gift, but check out the Stetson Panama hat and the Michael Kors striped crew-neck shirt.
For the new dad or a dad-to-be, how about a fancy stroller? Our Test Drive writer Nick Bilton wrote about his search for the most blinged-out pram in his recent column.
If all of this stuff seems wrong for the father you have in mind, go with a book.
